Can I Watch Computer?

...
I'm annoyed 'cause my cable provider does not broadcast the Champions League soccer...or rugby...or cricket I want to watch. Well, to be fair, they did have some rugby, but I'll be darned if I'm paying for pay-per-view after they already bleed me dry each month! So I started searching...Sure I can PAY to get sports on the internet, but I could PAY my cable company too.
Then I stumbled on this Updated List of Ways to Watch Free TV Online and was amazed at how much is out there on the net! I was particularly interested in the article on sports and downloaded SopCast that same night. I will admit, I've not watched a single sporting event with it, but I did watch a few minutes of a movie. It took a little while to connect and start streaming, but once it did, it worked pretty well. I also peeked at a couple of the sites not requiring a download to watch. Some were better than others, but they definitely show promise. Content varies and I found it very interesting the US has very few "channels" whereas other countries seem to have loads. Imagine that! If Bush found out we'd have to launch an all out attack on taking them over LOL.
I'm looking forward to spending some time exploring this new found media source when things slow down a little (Yah right! LOL!!) and finding the best channels (I mean sites) to watch on the internet. That sounds kind of silly now, but I bet in 10 years time kids will say "Mom...can I watch the computer??" TV just become extinct one of these days so be sure to save yours in the attic. It might be worth $250,000 dollars on the Antiques Roadshow of the future.
**And a BIG thanks to Vic....for giving me the idea to expand on her recent blog and post this. If you've not read hers you can check it out here. And here I was thinking I was the only one who poked around to find fun stuff like this!!
