Troubleshooting Yahoo Game Links

At least once a week, someone I know has trouble following a link to Yahoo Games. Invariably, instead of reaching the annoying bot-blocking account verification page (where your patience is tested typing in the random letters and numbers until you manage to get it right) the page comes up blank. The fix is simple and works nearly 100% of the time.
Follow up:
In the browser address bar type "login.yahoo.com" (without the quotation marks). This will take you to the main login screen for Yahoo. Put in your user name and password and check the box to "Keep me logged in for 2 weeks." Then close the window and try the link again. Chances are it will work just fine after that.
This problem is usually a result of not logging in to Yahoo in the last two weeks. Even if you've been using it, when 2 weeks is up, you may need to login again. Or, if you've done any routine maintenance your logins may have been cleared out when you delete browsing history, temp internet files, cookies, etc. I usually go to Yahoo straight away after a clean up and log back in so I don't run into this problem when I'm ready to game.
And while we're on the issue of solutions...have you ever tried to go into a game room and tho you should be there all you see is a blank screen? You can't see the game at all? This is usually a pop-up blocker issue. There are lots of places pop-up blockers hide and some people do prefer to leave them on. You can simply hold down the Shift+Control keys when you click the link to enter the room to bypass them. If you do want to turn them off, check your internet properties and any and all extra toolbars you may have installed as well. Firefox has it's own pop-up blocker so if you use this browser be sure to check for it as well. Even just one of them on can cause this to happen. If you want to leave them intact, just remember the Shift+Control trick when you enter a room.
Yahoo Games require you have Java on your machine. Almost everyone has this installed, but if you've not updated it recently, go to Filehippo and download the latest version. I have seen a few instances where an old version of Java did not allow various games/pages to display properly.
That's my public service Yahoo gaming advice for now. Even if you've never had the problems...file the info away in the back of your head, you never know when you may need it. (BTW I used this same advice for someone having the blank verification page problem when following a link to a Yahoo chat room - it should work for that as well.)

This isn't a problem I've heard of, but when you clear your cache - are you doing this by using the cleanup in your browser? If so, try clearing your Java cache instead. A good way to thorough clean out all your temp files in one fell swoop is to use ATF Cleaner - it includes your Java files as well which many other cleaners may not do.
Also, make sure you have the latest stable version of Java on your machine.
I'd think it's likely a Java issue or a server side issue (the cure for which is just to wait it out). Best of luck with it though! I know how frustrating it is when games won't work!!
