We all have things around the house that can do double duty…triple duty…and more! Here are a couple of links to check out the incredibly large number of uses for both Baking Soda and White Vinegar. They can both be used in many different areas of the home as well as for cooking.

In some cases, combining them can be extremely effective. This "recipe" may be on one of those lists, but it’s one I use all the time. In my house, drains get clogged with hair. Since trying this, I’ve not purchased any commercial drain cleaners. This works great!
Start by putting 8-10 cups of water in a microwave safe container and bringing it to a full boil.
While you’re waiting for the water to boil, pack the drain with baking soda.
Pour 1 cup of white vinegar directly onto the baking soda and watch it fizz like crazy.
Depending on the drain, it is likely the vinegar will NOT go through all the baking soda - but that’s ok - don’t worry about it. Let this sit until the water is boiling.
Pour the boiling water slowly into the drain. It will wash the rest of the baking soda away as you do. And that’s it!
Sometimes it takes a day or so of use to notice that the clog has completely been removed, but with a little more hot tap water - the clog will simply vanish.
A word of CAUTION: DO NOT USE THIS ON A DRAIN WITH A GARBAGE DISPOSAL
