Got Browsers?

Of course you’ve got browsers. Notice I said browsers - plural. Unless you have IFS of the Multiple Browser variety (click here to read more about this imaginary disorder) then you likely have more than one browser on your computer. I have struggled and worked hard to overcome my irrational fear of multiple browsers, and I now have three (count ‘em three) on my machine.
...
Maybe it’s just me, but I tend to bookmark favorites in the browser I’m working in, and if I happen to switch it up to another browser I get a bit miffed when the one I want isn’t there. Of course there are bookmarking sites like Delicious, but when I want something I use all the time - well, I want it right then. It’s usually easy to import IE favorites into a new browser, but sync them all later? That becomes a wee bit harder to do.
Recently I saw Transmute, a nice little utility to sync your bookmarks and favorites across browsers. It works with Chrome, Firefox, IE, Opera, Safari, Chromium, Flock, and Konquerer. Admittedly, it won’t keep them perpetually synced - you have to do it manually from time to time, but it does what it says it does. I was able to sync my Chrome and IE favorites without any problems.

This amazing, cross-platform utility will help you to try out different web browsers, synchronize bookmarks between systems, organize bookmarks, convert bookmarks for use in bookmark managers, share bookmarks with others and more. And best of all, it’s free!
I’ve used the "save a Word doc as a webpage dropped on the favorites bar" to store frequently used links. It works well when I have a large collection of related links I want to keep together. But for the sites I like to just have available in a single click Transmute offers a nice way to keep it all synced up all nice and OCD like. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
