When you do routine cleanup of files (like a disk cleanup, CCleaner, or other such utility) any contacts with whom you’ve not spoken in over a week, will default to the creepy blue WLM guy for their display picture. Of course, the next time they log in as visible, their picture will return, but I get rather annoyed waiting, so I found a rather convoluted way around it. 23 September 2007
Quite some time ago, a friend in Canada sent me one of those automated emails to join Facebook "FB" - I ignored it. I ignored the next couple from him too. We're rarely in contact, it's one of those work/friends things where you talk a couple times a year. Then I got one from Eagle_Kiwi, when he was coerced into joining by his daughters. I acknowledged the email verbally but steadfastly refused to join up. After all, they don't allow HTML (LOL) & how many sites can I possibly maintain? A month or so later, another email from Eagle_Kiwi (which I ignored) followed by his question if I'd received his emails & that's where I broke. If I didn't sign up I would be deluged with FB emails for the rest of my life!! If more friends joined it could end up being one a month!! Horrors!!

On Friday, I received an invitation to be a staff memeber at BigBlueBall ( BBB ). For those of you who use IM programs, this is THE resource for everything IM related. I've been a member since 2006, but had become far more active lately in the forums. It was quite an honor, in my mind, to be invited onto the staff of this site.

I've had a slight relapse into techno-geekdom (but with my usual somewhat warped sense of humor intact!) I can't lie to you. The truth is...I've been sitting on some good links, just waiting for the time when I knew I needed to update my blog but could think of nothing to write about. What? NOooo! I don't really believes this qualifies as "hoarding." Does it? If so, I'd be demonstrating yet another compulsive behavior and I'm quite sure I've proven beyond all reasonable doubt I've enough of those already!
