01 July 2007 ![]() Life rushes past with such incredible speed. As children, days seem to drag, months take forever, and years? Well, they're simply never ending. As an adult (or at least most of the time I am...no comments from the peanut gallery please!) they all seem to speed by in a blur. Often I don't take time to appreciate the small things, the little miracles of everyday life. There are so many wondrous things to stop and notice everyday if one just makes the time, taking a few moments to look for and reflect upon them. Tags: philosophy

In general, I stay away from discussions on politics and religion. Admittedly, I’m not a registered voter (no grief please – it’s the choice I make) so I feel I’ve no right to criticize how the U.S. is run. But as only one of you knows, pressed long enough, I will unleash my political opinions with little or no self-restraint. Religion on the other hand is such a personal subject. With so many different opinions and beliefs, I simply find it easier not to discuss, though I can be easily enough engaged in a conversation. I’m going to digress from my policy, mulling over something “quasi” religious.

For days my mind has been blank when it came to writing. Nary a bloggable thought crossed into the vast desolate void of my consciousness. I've been unusually introspective recently...contemplative. An idle mind is dangerous. Swirling thoughts trapped in the confines of solitude can be equally as ruinous.

For days I've struggled to come up with something, anything, to blog about. Last night I was going to tell you about a passage I read years ago, carefully dissecting it, and bringing to light just why it's been so important to me over the years. I carefully typed the passage - then sat there. Finally I realized the brief passage needs no translations. There was nothing I could say.
