So I stumble on yet another nice site for watching free TV on the internet. Surprised? I’m quite sure you’re not. I seem to have quite a collection of them going at the moment. (And, ummm, not enough time to really watch any of them.) Sling.com is still beta, but I’m reasonably impressed. Easy sign up, quality is great, good selection of TV shows and movies, and my 14 year old male offspring can even watch clips of his beloved WWE wrestling (which I despise).

![]() | I recently wrote about Joost - a free online TV viewing program you could download. Well Joost just got better! You can now watch Joost without downloading. Simply sign up for the site (free of course) and download an active-X plugin so you can watch from your browser. Check out the shows from comedy to sci-fi/horror to reality and documentary. There’s sure to be something you’ll enjoy on Joost. The team at Joost is still working on the plugin and there are rumors the site will eventually be plugin-less. There are likely more neat changes to come and perhaps a few bugs along the way. But the content is already great and well worth checking out. |

Will the Internet Replace Your TV?
Published on September 9th, 2008 @ 07:18 pm , using 1012 words, 236 views
Watching TV on the internet has never been easier. There are any number of great sites where you can watch TV shows, movies, sports and stations from around the world. There are so many shows available you could really replace your TV (if you were inclined to do so). I find my 13-1/2 year old male offspring bounces back and forth between cable and the internet for watching shows, so I doubt I’ll be able to take advantage of any monetary savings in the near future - but you never know…

How I stumbled upon this site is a bit convoluted. Then again, isn't most everything I do? (Comments regarding said rhetorical question will be moderated - I warn you!) Anyway, I am a member of a word of mouth marketing site, that spawned a word of mouth check out the website kinda thing. On the very day one of my 13-year old male offspring's teachers advised I needed to rent the video "A Raisin in the Sun" so he could complete some work, I received an email from the word of mouth check it out website thingy (which I usually just delete) but something greater in the universe told me to look at it. (No it wasn't just the little voices in my head that told me to do it.) In the email was OVGuide. I said to myself...."Self - this looks interesting and since we do need to check for streaming videos online (free is always better than renting) - let's check it out! (For the record - self agreed.)
