There are so many fraudulent charity web sites and even more emails cut from the same dastardly mold. Most ask for your money, either as direct contribution or buy making a purchase - preying upon your desire to help others. Those that claim you can help by simply forwarding an email on to say 40,000 of your closest friends and family members is likely have you sending a nasty malware worm along with your message. But there are legitimate sites where you can help - and it won’t cost you a thing (except maybe a few minutes of your time).
Last year, I received an email from my sister-in-law with a "help feed rescued animals" message. I was leery, but saved the email for a bit of future research. It purported to help shelter animals with just a daily click. I noticed it at the bottom of the Petfinder website the other day and I dug the email out of the saved email archives. I was pleased to find the actual site readily links to Snopes. (But just because anything can be duped, I did my own search on Snopes to verify.) It seems this site, and a number of related sites, have companies who have partnered to make donations based on daily clicks. I can’t think of anything better!!

So many people are in tight financial situations these days. Some simply cannot afford to donate money (and those that can probably wisely, don’t trust most websites asking for money) - but anyone can give clicks!!!
I’ve added links to these sites (which are all really kind of interlinked) to my patndoris.com home page. These sites help in so many ways. I hope you’ll take a few moments each week to visit my page and click a few of these links. It’s totally free and it does help. There’s no catch - you don’t have to sign up for anything, make a donation, nothing else - just click.
p.s. - feel free to pass along the link to this post. The more people who click - the greater the benefits for those in need.
